FREE!

The trees are swaying softy as the breezes sing their songs,
The birds fly ever so freely as the currents waft them along.
You said that you have set me free as a bird, so freely I must fly.
I shall try to catch the next current and let it carry me into the sky.

Lifting and wafting me into space, from which I shall not return,
Oh, what beautiful scenes I shall see, don't you wish you were along?
Fly to planet Mars, then move right along to investigate the "Black Holes",
But not getting close enough to be drawn into their roles.

I do not understand at all, you're sending me away.
Guess you have a greater love standing by the way.
You should have been honest with me from the very start,
Then I would not be flying away to the moon, and on into the stars.

You have given nothing to me, and you know that this is true,
You have always taken, you gave nothing in return, it is truly part of you.
I was willing to accept you, just the way you are,
Now the moon, the milky way, look good to me, especially the stars.

You shall ever be within my heart, unless the stars replace you there.
The beauty of the universe has much to offer, and to compare.
You became a living part of my heart, yet you wanted not to be,
So now I shall give it to the Man in the Moon, and see what I shall see.

I shall fly beyond the planets, play with the winds behind the moon,
Look into the milky way, and try to eat some with a spoon.
I shall run and fly and play so much that when I tire there,
I shall lie down on planet Earth, but you shall never know I am here.
