IF MY HEART

If my heart were a window,
What do you think you would see?
Would you see love, compassion and kindness,
Or would you see evil as deep as the sea?

If my heart were a window,
Would you see mercy flowing as wine?
Or would you see bitterness eating away,
As a worm eats away at a vine?

If my heart were a window,
You would see the loveliness of my Lord.
He bought me with His Holy Blood,
And washed me with His Word.

If my heart were a window,
You would see Jesus shining through.
For I am His, and He is Mine,
And His Love is forever true.

If my heart were a window,
Would you be looking inside,
To see if Jesus is looking for you,
To carry you along with His tide?

If my heart were a window,
Would you dare to stare, indeed?
To stare at the love offered to you,
All offered to you for free?
