Lavender Ribbons
Lavender ribbons keep floating through my mind. They were wound within my hair the very first time That I met you, and I shall always love them, For they remind me of my great love for you.
You know not about this love I have for you, Because you seemed not very interested at the time. My heart aches with this mighty love, I think it is given me from Heaven above.
I shall wait upon the Lord to move you toward me, For He has promised there is someone he has in mind, Someone that will complete me, as I shall complete him. I can hardly wait for your love for me to begin.
These lavender ribbons that I still wear in my hair, Are there because of you, of my love for you alone, Whenever you see the lovely ribbons floating in the breeze, Know this, they are wafting my love to you alone.
Lovely lavender ribbons, so very beautiful and delicate, Are an emblem of the beauty of the love within me. Oh, how I hope you remember the lavender ribbons, So you can open your heart unto the love I have for thee.
The lovely lavender ribbons I wear for thee, For thee alone...they are for thee, as I am for thee. Poetry copyright 1999
