"FEAR"
Being the kind of person that observes,
And doesn't intermingle too much,
May I tell you what I have found?
For what I have found has truly surprised me.
In watching and listening to others all of my life,
I must say, this discovery amazed me, not just surprised me.
Here it is in a concise statement, in a "nutshell", if you please.
"Most people are controlled by the emotion of fear more than
any other emotion."
Listen, and I shall tell you about it.
We make a great many decisions based upon fear; fear of losing
money, fear of losing our jobs, etc.
We fear what others may think of us if we do, or say, what we
truly believe, or want to really do.
We fear that someone may not love us if we tell them the truth.
We fear that our parents will love another sibling more if we
do not do exactly as we are told.
We fear, truly FEAR God, instead of having a Reverential Awe of
Him, and For Him.
We fear what others may think if we don't wear the right style, or styles, of clothing.
We fear what others may think, or say, if our hair is not cut in the style
of the day.
We fear that we may not be accepted into the "Clique" at school.
We fear that our grades will not be high enough to please our parents.
We fear that our grades may be too high, and our peers will think we
are nerds.
As adults, we fear that our husbands/wives will not love us if we do
not do, or say, what they want us to do, or say.
We fear what the people in church will say about what we wear.
We fear what the preacher will say if we don't show up each time the
church door is open.
We fear to go out at night because gangs roam the streets. Gangs are
As "packs of wolves", very seldom will they strike alone, they need
the pack to back them up, and urge them on...how very sick.
We fear the Internal Revenue..thinking that they may find that we owe
them a few pennies, and come take out homes because they have
the authority to do so...I must admit that the Internal Revenue has much too
much authority over the middle, and poor, classes, but not
enough authority over the rich, and richer classes. Would someone
explain this to me, please?
We fear ourselves most of all...we fear we might lose our minds,
we fear that we might get cancer, we fear we might lose our loved
ones, we fear we might lose our money...and you know what?
These are all mindless fears...totally mindless fears...for what
can we do to stave them off? I shall tell you!
THE SECOND EPISTLE OF PAUL, THE APOSTLE, TO
TIMOTHY.
CH.1: V7: FOR GOD HAS NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR,
BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND.
