THE WALK

The walk is long, so long and lonely,
It never seems to have an end.
Sometimes I try to run, to hurry,
To find rest around the bend.

The walk is long, so long and lonely,
I see no one along the way.
I would love to talk with someone,
Yet, there is no one here today.

The walk is long, so long and lonely,
I walk on and on, and on.
I start to sing a melody,
To give my heart a song.

The walk is long, so long and lonely.
I am always walking alone.
No one to walk, nor talk, with,
Wish I had a loving home.

The walk is long, so long and lonely,
The walk is really through life.
People are uncaring and non-loving,
And their lives are filled with strife.

The walk is long, so long and lonely,
This walk through life alone,
Yet around the bend, when my life ends,
I'll have Jesus, with Heaven as my home.
