WANDERING

I was lost and alone!
Not knowing where to turn.
The hurting inside made me weep,
For peace of mind I did yearn,
But I was the proverbial black sheep.

The throbbing pain did not subside,
No matter what path I took.
I just wandered alone far and wide,
Lost, all my many goals I forsook.

I went down, down into the depths,
To that terrible place called Despair!
I longed for release, wished for death,
But then I met Someone who seemed to care.

Yes, when I couldn’t sink any farther down,
When I gave up my Will and gave In,
Let go of the burdens I’d carried around,
I asked the Lord to forgive my sin.

I turned my life over forever, to the Lord,
And that day my wandering came to an end,
All those years when I wandered before,
Were erased, gone, thanks to my new found Friend.

Now He walks with me and guides me each day,
And promised never to leave me alone.
I’m now walking happily along on my way,
Until my Friend Jesus takes me Home.
