WIND-BORNE

Oh, sweet wind a'blowing,

Across the hills and plains,

Come for me, please hurry,

And take away my pain?

Oh, sweet wind a'blowing,

Lift me into the air,

Take me high, above the clouds,

Let me find solace there.

Oh, sweet wind a'blowing,

Sweep me into the sky,

Let me not come back to earth,

Let me float on by.

Oh, sweet wind a'blowing,

Take me past the moon,

So I can never hear again,

The mournful crying of the loon.

Oh, sweet wind a'blowing,

Take me higher yet,

Take me to a land somewhere,

Where I can forget.

Oh, sweet wind a'blowing,

Lift me beyond the sun,

And teach me not to love again,

Then I shall not have to run.

Oh, sweet wind a'blowing,

Reach down and carry me,

Far above all the earth,

Above all of the seas.

Oh, sweet wind a'blowing,

Lose me in outer space,

For I have run all of my life,

And I feel I have lost the race.

Oh, sweet wind a'blowing,

Send me to yonder milky way,

Perhaps it shall accept my love,

And allow me to ever stay.
